Our Impact
Originally formed from the Samaritan Group and in 1992 was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization under the name “Gloucester Housing Partnership.” In 2022, the organization rebranded itself as “Rural Housing Partnership” in an effort to expand services outside the current area. Our mission is to assist indigent elderly, disabled homeowners so they can live sustainably and safely in their homes. To this end, we focus on helping eligible clients access federal funding to augment our budget. Our home repairs include roofing, heating, ADA bathroom conversions and access ramps; focusing on repairing health and safety issues.Utilizing a new client outreach model, we screen clients for eligibility in person. Every screened client receives a courtesy home safety inspection by our licensed contractor to ascertain any missed safety needs during our initial screening appointment.
We receive referrals from the Gloucester County Department of Social Services, Healthy Families, Bay Aging, other community organizations, and from citizens of the County who are simply concerned about their neighbors.
